Practice Areas
When you are facing a divorce or child custody matter, you may wonder what your options are. Our practice can help you explore several options in Colorado. We focus our practice on all aspects of family law, including traditional divorce, the issues of parental rights and responsibilities (formerly called child custody), child support, adoption, and representation of foster parents and grandparents. We serve as Child and Family Investigators and Child Legal Representatives, providing a voice for children caught in conflict. We are trained and experienced in Collaborate Divorce Law, emphasizing joint and cooperative problem solving instead of litigation. Collaborative Law represents the latest trend in divorce law. We know that all the parties involved in a Collaborative Divorce case end up feeling better about the outcome. The parties remain in control of the process as they identify and solve the many issues facing divorcing families.

Other cases that we handle include matters in juvenile court. We have experience in juvenile court throughout the Denver Metro area and are very familiar with many juvenile court matters including representation of parents in dependency and neglect cases and paternity cases, as well as children in deliquency matters. We also serve as Guardians ad Litem in dependency and neglect and paternity cases when appointed by the court or when requested by other attorneys.
One significant area of our practice has been representation of victims of sexual torts, which include sexual abuse and domestic violence matters. These cases can arise between a relative and child, a religious leader and parishioner, a teacher and student, a neighbor and a child, or a member of the medical profession and a client.
Another area of strong focus for our practice is that of mediation and arbitration as forms of alternative dispute resolution. Mediation and arbitration offer people a way to resolve issues without having to go to Court. In fact, many Colorado Courts are ordering people to engage in alternative dispute resolution before they will allow people to have a hearing. These methods can save people time, money and the significant stress of going to Court. David Littman is an experienced mediator and arbitrator and is often selected by other attorneys to perform this role in divorce and child custody issues. Joshua Wohl recently completed a 40 hour mediation training program and has been actively mediating for the past two years.
