David Littman has over 28 years of experience as a trial attorney. He received his law degree from Washington University in St. Louis, where he also obtained graduate degrees in counseling psychology and behavioral science. He has emphasized family law in his practice, spending a significant portion of his time representing both parents and children in dissolution of marriage and custody matters. His education and training enables him to address complex mental health issues, drug abuse issues and certain medical issues that arise in the context of family law matters.  He has been a member of the MDIC Board and is currently the President of the Family Law Section of the Colorado Bar Association. David recently completed a seven year term as a member of the Board of Directors of Colorado CASA, an organization which he served two years as President.  CASA is an organization that trains and provides volunteers to children who are the victims of abuse and neglect.

David Littman has strong experience in highly conflicted dissolution matters, including those involving allegations of sexual abuse and parental alienation.  He frequently serves as a Special Master, Arbitrator or Mediator in divorce and custody cases. He estimates he has been a Special Master/Mediator/Arbitrator in 325-375 cases. He has substantial federal and state court jury trial experience in representing victims of sexual abuse and abuse of trust, personal injuries, and medical malpractice. He also served for ten years on a part time basis as a magistrate in Denver and Jefferson counties.  Mr. Littman was part of the group of attorneys and mental health professionals charged with the responsibility for drafting the guidelines for Special Advocates (now known as Child and Family Investigator).  He estimates that he has been appointed Special Advocate/Child and Family Investigator in about 200-250 cases since 1998.  His hourly rates range from $200-$325 per hour unless directed otherwise by the Court, depending upon the type of services provided.  His consult fee for the first hour is $250.
